He is Risen! Alleluia!
My family had a very nice Easter, I hope yours did too.
Walking into church
Easter Sunday and smelling the incense just made my heart so happy. The
vestments were beautiful, the chants and candles and oh, how glad I am we get
to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection! This was the first time we have attended an
Extraordinary Mass (Latin) for Easter, and I loved the reverence and quiet.
Miss Dancer and I wore our new veils I made the night (wee
hours of the morning) before. Miss Dancer’s veil turned out very pretty, mine…needs
some work. The lace trim, that looked so nice in the store, had little puckers
in it, so it doesn’t lie (or maybe it is lay) flat. I look like a baby wearing
a frilly bonnet! Not a good look for a 40+ something year old. J I have more lace for
another veil; I just need to find a different trim, non-puckered.
Even though the weather was very cold, it was a beautiful
day: family together, kids played nicely, plentiful food and Our Risen Lord!
Life does not get any better.
We only got one picture of each child before the batteries died on our camera.
Miss Dancer in her First Holy Communion dress from last year and her new veil, which doesn't usually stick up like it is in this picture. The picture was taken so quickly, I just threw on the veil. She picked out the veil fabric because of the roses. J
